About Eddie Eagle
Eddie is A Vocal Kung Fu Master, a Renaissance Man, a Futurist and a World Traveler. World Cultures and The Arts, Windsurfing, Snowboarding and Bodyboarding are just a few of his interests.
Eddie provides voiceover for trailers, TV/radio spots, sizzle reels, web, corporate imaging and related A/V deliverables.
He has a real movie trailer, entertaining voice that is warm, rich, caring and sounds like the friendly neighbor. Eddie easily performs voices that are dark and ominous, funny and comedic, deadpan, edgy and hip, while still appealing to those seeking the corporate sound Eddie Eagle has been the voice for Movie Trailers, Commercials, Narrations, Voice Over for IVR, and the Voice Of God. He has mastered the art of "matter of fact delivery". Recently asked about Eddie's business philosophy he responded, "Be straight with people and always follow up with great performance and communications. Be flexible. Bend like a reed in the wind." (Yeah, I like the movie "Dune")
Since kneehigh to a rattlesnake, Eddie studied music, sang and performed theater throughout his school years. “Music has always been an influence in my life and it is a language of expression.” He is a product of “Pop Culture” spending way too much time compulsively watching cartoons, movies and TV as well as listening to the radio when a young lad. With his musical ability and a finger on the "Culture”, he developed an uncanny range of vocalization ability to create that same flow, sounds and movements he grew up with beginning in the late 50s on forward.
From 1975-79 Eagle was Technical Director and Emcee for Major Arena Concerts and live events at a 10,000 seat coliseum, 2 theaters and various venues on the University of Southern Mississippi campus. Shows included: Bob Dylan and the Rolling Thunder Revue, The Doobie Brothers, Earth Wind and Fire, War, Blue Oyster Cult, Boz Skaggs, and many more top name recording artists as well as big name comedians like Steve Martin on his Wild and Crazy Guy Tour.
He also received a BA in Broadcast Communications at Western Kentucky University and worked as On Air Promo Writer/Producer for the local ABC affiliate as well as DJing college radio at the same time.
Previous work (1984-1992) includes positions at Columbia Pictures, Virgin Video, and other major entertainment companies in licensing, advertising, marketing and sales and as a producer and talent and sold literally “Millions” of movies, music and games on Videocassette, DVD, & CD. Through those years I was regularly called upon to stand and deliver movie, music and game release presentations in front of small and large groups inside the entertainment industry. I also watched literally “thousands” of trailers for movies and video releases as a part of my daily job and started developing my personal trailer voice delivery after hearing just about every movie trailer guy there is.”
Eagle also ran the Hollywood Confidential Home Video Label whose catalog of titles were Road Show Exploitation Movies from the 20s-50s with titles like, "Confessions of a Vice Baron", "Wrestling Racket Girls" (aka "Racket Girls"), "Devil's Harvest", "Hollywood Confidential" and more. These road show movies have a colorful history and were shown in the same fashion as the original Warner Brothers would do in Ohio showing movies on the side of a tent. He also ran 2 other home video labels, Showcase Video and JLT Films which kicked off the exercise video trend with Jane Kennedy.
Moving from Chicago to Washington state he started his own company, Eddie Eagle Entertainment, in 1993 and more recently MovieTrailerGuy.Com with a focus as off screen talent for movies, trailers, commercials, Broadcast Narrations and websites. He is also a consultant in the entertainment industry. He has an inhouse studio equipped for audio and video editing.
